Diabetic ulcers are unable to heal properly due to increased levels of a detrimental protein called matrix metalloproteinase-9, MMP-9, that results in prolonged inflammation. The root cause is addressed by our patented technology through a selective inhibitor of MMP-9, the enzyme responsible for the pathology associated with chronic wounds.
